Eve online tips for beginners. EVE Online - guide to training missions. First steps into Eve. Limitations of the free version of EVE Online

Hello everyone, this is a chameleon and today I want to answer a very frequently asked question about what to do in Eva. Often people undergo training, go through basic recruiting agents, and they are stupefied, what exactly can they do here? When they turn to experienced players with this question, they rightly answer them: “everyone.” And indeed, Eva is a sandbox game, with a huge selection of activities, in which it is sometimes easy to get lost. There is no imposed plot here, there is no such thing as in other games, get to the maximum level, collect the best clothes, and essentially beat the game. You can play for many years and not try all aspects of the game. To see this, you can look at this picture.

In Eve, you come up with something to do for yourself, set goals for yourself and achieve them. Eve is a game where each player can influence the game itself, which is played by tens of thousands of other players.

It will take a lot of time to talk about each type of activity in the game, so in this guide I will tell you only about the most common types of earnings in the game, their pros and cons, so that you can choose your path on what to do online.

I'll start with peaceful professions in which you don't have to shoot or kill anyone.

MINING

The first and most obvious profession is mining, essentially extracting ore from asteroids. Many beginners start with this, since this is the most obvious and easiest way to make money, and they dig hard, hoping to get rich. Unfortunately, mining is one of the most unprofitable ways to make money. It's simple, safe, but unprofitable. Perhaps the only advantage of mining is the ability to dig in semi-AFK, for example, while sitting at work, taking the mined ore to the station every 15 minutes. Or read the guides while you’re digging. Yes, this can still be justified by digging only for the first day or two while you’re reading the guides, so at least you’ll earn the minimum starting capital along the way, but I don’t advise you to do this permanently. Many make excuses, but afk, but I watch movies while I’m digging, but I can at work. But the question is, then why play the game at all if you are afk in it all the time? In general, in fact, you can earn money from mining, but you have to play at least 3-5 windows, and accordingly, pay for them monthly.

PRODUCTION

The second way to earn money, coming directly from mining, is production. However, I will say right away that beginners have nothing to do in production, since effective production requires a certain level of training, and good starting capital. However, if you are a pro in Excel and you are an accountant at heart and like to do a lot of math, you can give it a try.

TRADE

The third way to earn money is trading. Everything is simple here: bought or produced cheaply, sold dearly. You can trade volumes while sitting at one of the trading stations, so you need good starting capital. Or on a trading margin, purchasing goods cheaply and transporting them to those systems where they can be sold at a higher price. Having good working capital, you can make quite a decent living from trading.

These were relatively safe ways of earning money that could be done in the so-called highsec. Oh yes, I’ll tell you right away about the security sector. The game has 3 conditional security sectors, the first is high-sec, systems with a security status from 1.0 to 0.5 inclusive. This is a relatively safe space, here you can still be attacked and killed, but for this the aggressors will be immediately punished by the Concorde, this can be said by the local police. However, if you are carrying an expensive cargo on a fragile ship, from about a hundred million, then you can be killed for the sake of profit.
Next come low-sec, systems with a low security level, from 0.4 to 0.1. Here, in general, it’s almost free pvp, with minor restrictions. Aggressors who attacked a peaceful target will be unpleasantly shot by cannons near gates and stations, but you should not rely on them, since aggressors usually take them into account when attacking.
And finally there are zeros, systems from 0.0 and below. There is complete lawlessness here, any person is a potential enemy. This is the territory where the players themselves build their empires.

SCANNING

So let's get back to ways to make money. The last peaceful way is to scan and search for signatures. Scanning itself is divided into peaceful and combat. The first is scanning so-called data sites and artifacts; in slang they are often called relics. Here, in general, everything is simple and interesting, we look for dates or relics, break open the containers inside, and sell the dropped goodies on the market. It is most profitable to engage in scanning in the scratches, since in highsec there is wild competition among hundreds of the same newcomers, and the loot is rather poor. In the zeros, even a beginner can earn a couple of hundred million in an evening with luck. It's risky, but that makes it especially interesting. I will devote a separate video guide to this method of earning money.

The second branch of scanning is combat scanning, so to speak. You are also looking for signals, but this time from combat sites, or as they are also called plexes, where, as a rule, you will need to kill all the enemies and defeat the miniboss, from which there is a chance of tasty loot falling out. The activity is basically a lottery, you can go through several plexes and nothing will fall, or you can knock out a bunch of expensive goodies at once.

AGENT MISSIONS

The next most common type of income is completing agent missions. You have already met them in training. Everything is simple here, you complete missions, you are given a small reward in money and also some LP, or otherwise loyalty points, which you can exchange in a special corporate store for various goodies. Brings a small but stable income. The lower the security status, the higher the income. In highsec, the income is small, but in zero it is already quite decent. As with most activities in EVE, the higher the risk, the higher the reward. Many beginners are advised to just complete missions, but they often do not take into account the fact that only missions from 4 level agents are more or less profitable, which beginners do with difficulty, and they reach more or less adequate earnings only after at least a couple of months of leveling up.

INVASIONS OF SANSHA

If you don’t want to take too much risk and are going to live in highsec, then you can engage in invasions, this is such group content. In short, a fleet of 10-40 people gathers and fly to kill the NPCs. They say good earnings for highsec players, to be honest, this layer of the game is unfamiliar to me and I don’t know how this applies to beginners. However, you can visit these couple of sites http://newgalaxyage.ru/ and http://gipincursion.ru/ and read more about it yourself and ask more knowledgeable people.

PASSING ANOMALIES

Next we have the passage of anomalies in the zeros. Essentially speaking, anomalies appear everywhere, both in highsec and lowsec, but only in zerosec they are more or less profitable. Everything is simple here, it’s similar to missions, only without agents, you fly to the anomaly, kill everyone, you get money for this every 20 minutes, the more you kill, the more you earn. Thus, you can earn money consistently only if you are a member of a zero corporation that has its own systems. Now, the co-corps themselves will be able to tell you how and what. Often, more experienced comrades allow newcomers to pick up loot that drops for them on anomalies, since it is not profitable for them to spend time on this, but for a beginner it is quite money.

FACTION WARS

And finally, one of the most profitable ways for beginners to make money is factional wars, or as they are sometimes called “militia”. It is divided into two ways: capturing beacons, and completing special missions. Factional wars themselves are associated with a certain risk, but this is perhaps the best way to make money for those people who later want to engage in pvp. I will devote a separate guide to this method.

In 2017, start in EVE Online noticeably lighter than 14 years ago. This is due to the addition of a convenient training system, flexible character customization and a simplified interface, not to mention movements within the ship.

This stunning multiplayer fairy tale is now available for free (but with restrictions); just download and install the game client.Opportunities for novice pilots Free to Play will be sufficient. An important nuance is that almost any action takes time, so don’t count on quick sessions.

Limitations of the free version of EVE Online:

The player acts as an alpha clone, to whom not all types of spaceships and skills are available;
For each faction, a unique list of capabilities available for development has been thought out;
Learning skills in the F2P version is slower;
A complete list of alpha clone limits is available on the official website;
The innovation was launched in November 2016 and will always be in effect.

What to pay attention to when creating a character?

Race affects starting positions, conditions and biography, but practically does not impose restrictions on the type of activity. Take your pick. Pay attention to the hero’s appearance, because the designer’s capabilities are approaching the series The Sims.

Then choose a location in the universe, get a free ship and look through the skills available to learn. To include Russian language in EVE Online you should go to settings, select Language and switch to Russian.

Starting training

After the first launch, you will be offered to take the Aura course, do not refuse it. A game EVE Online characterized by an unfriendly attitude towards beginners, so try to consistently follow all the points.

During the tutorial, you will master the various social, navigation and military elements presented in the game, although each of them is divided into many subcategories. Help key – F12, when you click on it, a section will open "Training courses".

Questions and answers (FAQ)

1. Who are we in Eve's world? A pilot who connects to a ship, fights with opponents, trades, dies and wins. When teaming up with other pilots, you are free to create alliances and gangs, control individual sectors, and most importantly, experience complete freedom of action, unattainable even in the X series.
2. How many servers are there in the game? One, consisting of tens of thousands of segments. Simultaneously in EVE Online the number of online players is up to 100 thousand people.
3. Do player-created objects (stations and others) remain? Yes. They can be built, destroyed, captured.
4. Can I play alone? Sure, but the question is how quickly you'll get bored. A strong social component is a vital part of this space MMO.
5. Where can I find detailed guides? Inside the game itself, or on specialized resources, including Russian-language portals.

Although the EVE universe is so multifaceted and diverse that any player can always invent something new, discover his own path to achieving wealth and power, the possibilities and scale of the game in most cases are simply dumbfounding to new players. If this is your first time getting into the cockpit of your ship and if you don’t have any friends in the game who can teach you the basics of the game, then this guide will greatly help you in the first few steps to avoid getting confused and wasting time.

Start.

1. Russification of the game client has become a significant step by the EVE developers towards all Russian-speaking people who are at odds with bourgeois languages. Localization is very far from perfect, but if you have problems with English, the first thing you should do is open the settings, go to the tab Language and change the language to a familiar one – workers’ and peasants’.

2. Wherever possible, playersEVE strongly advises newbies to complete the training. It's not in vain that they recommend it. Training inEVE may not be the best, but it will explain to you the basics of navigation, and the most important thing you should take away from it is that every object in the system can be found through the context menu - right click on an open space. In addition to training, for a long time, windows with training tips and warnings will pop up here and there. No matter how much they annoy you, don’t close them, but read and delve into them. All this will greatly help you get comfortable in the world.EVE.

3. During the training process, you will be given a training agent with a couple of simple quests and explained how and where to look for the objectives of the task. At the end of the training, you will be shown a window with a list of so-called “recruitment agents.” You MUST set a route to one of them, since they are all located at the same station. You can return to this window at any time by calling up help using the F 12 key and clicking “Show recruiting agents.”

Why do you need to carry out the tasks of these particular agents, and not immediately start exploring outer space? Because it's a freebie! But we don’t want to miss out on freebies, do we? Almost for free, for a couple of dozen modest orders, in addition to about two million isks, you will also receive a pack of sensible books, a couple of implants, a mountain of various equipment and even a whole fleet of frigates, including, for example, the popular frigate Rifter if you started as Minmatar. And even an industrial ship... But the most important thing is that these missions greatly help you get used to the game, understand its basics, begin to understand the gameplay and decide what to do in the future. So, better not miss this opportunity.

Upgrading skillss).

4. Having completed your training, you should have already learned the basic features of leveling up in EVE. The basic skill is obtained from a book. You will receive some books by completing missions with training agents. The rest, if necessary, will have to be bought on the market. There are a huge variety of skills. At first, you don’t have to worry too much about them, just learn what you need at the moment. For example: you decide to buy a shield amplifier on the market, right-click on it or on the blue information icon, look at the requirements there, buy the necessary books and study skills to the required level.

But there is something else you should know. The speed of learning a skill is determined not only by its level and, accordingly, complexity (x2, x3, x4, etc.), but also by characteristics. There are only five characteristics in the game, these are: intelligence, perception, charisma, willpower and memory. Each skill is responsible for one primary characteristic and one secondary one. For example, learning the skill of navigation will be accelerated, to a greater extent, due to high intelligence and, to a slightly lesser extent, due to perception.

There are several ways to increase your character's stats. For starters, these are implants. For the main implants, five holes can be drilled in your head, respectively, one type of implant for each characteristic. But, implants above the first level are very expensive for a novice player, so the main way to improve your character will be skills from the “training” category. This : analytical mind, empathy, instant recall, iron will, spatial awareness and learning. Moreover, as an inquisitive player can guess, first of all it is better to download instant recall, then analytical mind, then learning, and then the rest. By learning these skills in this order, you increase the required stats, which will speed up the learning of other skills that increase stats, which... you get the idea.

Basics of survival.

EVE features full PvP. That is, in any place you can always be attacked, shot, killed and robbed. However, your chances of falling prey to pirates vary from system to system. In the upper left corner you can always see a little information about the system you are on, including its “security”. Security in a system can vary, from zero (0.0) to actually secure (1.0). Systems with a status of 0.5 and above are closely monitored by a local law enforcement organization called CONCORD. So, if in one of these systems some daredevil suddenly starts firing at you, then know that Chip and Dale are already rushing to your aid on a huge space battleship with a thermonuclear firecracker at the ready, and only a few scraps of the aggressor are about to remain. Although smart robbers, over the many years of playing EVE, have come up with many ingenious ways to rob players even on systems with 1.0, so you shouldn’t completely relax anywhere. For example, when flying out of a station dock, you may see a container dangling in space. Under no circumstances take anything from it, since its owner is probably also hanging around somewhere very close and is impatiently waiting to get the right to shoot you for theft...

In systems with a status below 0.5, CONCORD can still help you, near system entrances or near stations, however, without close supervision from Imperial officials, local militias apparently drank their heavy-duty scanners. Therefore, in deep space you can be easily caught and shot. And a novice player shouldn’t travel to such remote places.

5 . If your ship happens to find itself in serious trouble and at some point you realize that it is about to explode, then do the following: on the map or in the “overview” window, find a station or any object and spam the hyperjump button to this an object. As soon as your ship is blown up, you will find yourself in and on the capsule, immediately hyperjumping to safety. If you are unlucky and somehow your capsule is blown up and you die, then you will wake up again at the station in your clone. In the training you should have been told that clone is different from clone and they differ in the capacity of skill points. The clone needs to be periodically updated, increasing its capacity, otherwise after the next death you will have to learn something again. Definitely something important. You can also move the clone to the station where you want to appear after death.

Working for agentsaka quests.

You should already know the main types of work and activities in EVE, in this regard, you can choose an agent based on your preferences.

By completing agent tasks, you increase s tandings, or the agent's corporation's attitude towards you. The ratio can vary from -10.00 to 10.00. You also increase your reputation with this agent personally. If you constantly fail missions or take missions and refuse, you will eventually lose your standing, and the agent will stop trusting you and send you away. Rough. There is also factional standing. The attitude of one of the four factions towards you. You will receive factional standing only for completing special tasks, notifications about which will be sent to your email. They will rarely come.

Agents also differ in two ways. The first is quality. The higher the quality, the higher the agent's reward. The second and very significant indicator is the level. Agents have only five levels. The first level is the simplest missions. At first, doing them is very tedious and unprofitable, but over time, you will increase your standing and second-level agents will become available to you. The second level on a frigate is already difficult to complete, and for transportation you will need a larger hold. Further, accordingly, it becomes more and more difficult.

You can increase the growth rate of your standing and receive more rewards for tasks by upgrading certain skills from the “social skills” branch.

Standing also affects some other aspects of the game, such as reducing the amount of various duties and taxes on certain actions.

These basics are enough for an ordinary person to get comfortable in the EVE universe and start earning their first money. Remember that the game has so many possibilities that even the developers themselves don’t know them all :) Study, experiment, you’ll probably find a lot of interesting things for yourself.

If you have problems that you can’t find answers to, you can quickly ask in the chat, maybe someone will help. If you know English, you can ask on the rookie help channel, which will automatically open for you when you log into the game for the first month. To open a Russian-language channel, click on the “cloud icon”. The same one that usually sticks out of characters' mouths in comics. Type “russian” into the search and click “connect.”

EVE Online is a fairly global game in which every newcomer, after completing the training, is faced with the question of what to do next. They can help you with solving this problem in a Russian chat, but if you are not particularly eager to present yourself as an inexperienced noob, then a more rational step would be to join one of the many corporations. There they will assign you a role and even help you financially in the first stages, since each community is interested in attracting “new blood.”

Completing agent missions

After completing the training, you are immediately sent to the first agent, who will issue tasks to destroy weak enemy NPCs, transport cargo from one system to another, or extract useful minerals. As a rule, starting ships with a couple of simple modules will be enough for this. You get more profit if you complete tasks together with friends, but you can also complete them yourself.

Of course, you can’t earn a lot of money this way, but after a few days of farming missions, it should be quite enough for you to buy your first warships. Especially if you will be performing more dangerous tasks, moving over impressive distances or speaking against stronger opponents.

Participation in factional wars

Buying PLEX is faster and, to be honest, a beginner will be able to enjoy the game more if he enters into a PVP confrontation with other factions. There are four of them in total in EVE Online, and all representatives of the galactic races are interested in their particular faction dominating. In addition, factional wars are an excellent chance to fight and have fun, making money on various interactivity, if you do not want to sell game currency on numerous exchanges.

Joining a militia comes with certain risks. By joining the war, you thereby voluntarily agree to become an official enemy of representatives of another race. For example, if you registered for the Caldari faction, then your opponents will be representatives of the Gallente race. These players will be able to destroy you with impunity when they meet, and NPC guards located in safe sectors will immediately react to your presence in the system.

Mineral mining

Many beginners choose “digging” as their main occupation. In EVE Online, mineral mining has become an integral segment of the economy, and besides, no one will force you to fight with anyone. Each player can safely mine minerals from space objects, selling what they extract or processing it into more valuable resources.

Mining minerals is most suitable for new players, for whom PVP is an uninteresting and unpromising activity. Or you are at work and don’t want to devote all your time to the game, but want to earn at least some income. You can dig in semi-afk mode, only occasionally recharging the harvesters. On average, “digging” can bring up to 10 million isk per hour, which, of course, cannot be called a substantial amount. But this is enough for some needs, especially if you don’t bother updating your clone and can easily afford to buy a skill injector for the subsequent sale of accumulated skill points.

Scanning

Relics are unique places that you can scan and get some income for it. Scanning is divided into peaceful and combat, and the first case is precisely what is interesting to beginners. Most novice players do this in safe sectors, and due to high competition, finding a profitable signature will be very problematic. Yes, and, to be honest, this is not very profitable, since loot from such anomalies is not very in demand on the market.

It's another matter if you go to the "zeros". It is much more dangerous here, but this means the competition is minimal, and the potential reward can exceed hundreds of millions of claims. Of course, you can be killed here at any time, but, with desire and some luck, you can literally farm half the cost of PLEX in an evening.

Trade

A huge layer of activity in EVE Online is occupied by trade. The in-game economy is entirely tied to the actions of the players themselves, and here you will always find where to turn around. However, the problem with trading not being very popular is that you will need substantial starting capital to do so. Not every player is ready to spend ISK earned from agents on purchasing transport ships rather than warships. But here, as they say, the choice is entirely yours.

In trading there is also a rule “the more dangerous, the more profitable.” Transporting goods through safe sectors is tedious and not always profitable, but transportation through “zeros” can cover any costs in the shortest possible time. Be careful, you may be killed by pirate players or hostile NPCs along the way. But here, too, there is one way out: hiring other players as security. Yes, yes, such a business exists in Eva. So, if you are planning to become a global tycoon, then this opportunity should not be neglected.

conclusions

EVE Online is a huge space sandbox where every player can find something to their liking. The main thing, to begin with, is to decide that you are attracted to battles or peaceful professions, and only after that choose suitable ships and features for them.

The above presents only a part of the possible activities to which a beginner can devote himself. Every year, developers from CCP Games introduce new interactivity into their project, and it’s far from a fact that tomorrow we won’t get the opportunity to do something amazing and previously unseen.

Although the EVE universe is so multifaceted and diverse that any player can always invent something new, discover his own path to achieving wealth and power, the possibilities and scale of the game in most cases are simply dumbfounding to new players.
